Most Excellent Breaking News (updated)
Margo Lanagan, brilliant author of Black Juice and many other fine books now has a blog! Woo hoo! And a bloody superb one it is too! This news has made my day.
She’s even linking to some of her bad reviews and posing excellent questions such as: “Since when is ‘polished and clever’ the definition of good writing?” Since never, says I.
My only complaint is that so far she’s not enabling comments, thus depriving us all of the pleasure of welcoming her to blogland; and her of the pleasure of editing our comments (scroll down).
Update: as noted by Marrije in the comments, Margo has now enabled us all to get in amongst it with her and comment to our heart’s content. Yay!

- @postteen I didn't say no metaphors. Just no similes. I ain't no Calvinist! Pass me the booze. # 1 hour ago
- @postteen Wait. You're citing Hemingway as an example of *good* writing? Er, I have no response to such madness. #death2similes # 1 hour ago
- I'm offended. Battling similes is MUCH crazier. RT: @thebravetart that's as crazy as attacking the Oxford comma @Gwenda @christopherrowe # 1 hour ago

but it’s really easy to get a blogger account. Takes seconds to fill in the thingie. I mean technically I have one, but I only use it to comment on blogger blogs. (Hmmm, blogger blogs. That reads weirdly.)

ben peek Says:
well, sure, it’s easy, but there’ll be people who won’t do it. (if i have something to say, i will. i most lurk, however, due to laziness.) however, just as it’s just as easy to get a blogger account it’s also just as easy to get a livejournal account, but some people don’t

Well, yeah, but all the ljs I like to comment on don’t block annonymouses so I’ve never gotten around to it.
Plus you lj lot, it’s like an evil cult! If I get an lj account I’ll probably wind up on some ashram thinking I’ll become holy if I clean toilets with tootbrushes and sand. I’m just saying . . .

it’s only an evil cult since deb got there. if you do a close study, you’ll see she’s the pusher. it was all benevolent when i got involved, now i have supple young things come in to clean the toilet daily…
not that i’m complaining, mind.
