It was truly stupid of me to actually be surprised by this, under the circumstances, but my reaction to the interview: My God! Someone else has read The Magic Pudding!
(Although I see there’s actually a US edition available at the moment. Not before time!)
Also, I love the fact that you lumped Conan in with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.
David: Well, I was reading them at the exact same time so for me they go together. At the time I thought the Conan books were the funniest books I’d ever read. I couldn’t get enough of them. I’ve always meant to go back and re-read ’em . . .
Ah, The Magic Pudding does a finer book exist anywhere in the world?
